When creating this piece, I wanted to contrast simple, with the figure on the left, and bizarre, with the squid on the right. I used my paint pour as the background to compliment the strange nature of the squid. The squid emerging from the figure is meant to represent a complex inner appearance emerging from a simple, boring one.
When creating this piece, I was thinking about my connection to my Super Smash Bros. Ultimate main, Isabelle. Isabelle and I have a lot of similarities and she feels so natural to play as. I decided to paint her at the Fountain of Dreams stage because despite the fierce battle raging on the stage, the area remains beautiful and tranquil.
This piece's subject is the "Silent Princess" flower from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I chose this flower because it was my favorite to find when I explored, it made me feel like I found something special and difficult to discover without help. I also feel a connection to this flower with its difficulty to find, as I often feel unnoticed until I'm needed for something.
